i can’t find “blog stats” on wordpress?

i wanna know how many people visited my blog so i checked this site:

The page you visited relates to WordPress.com and it appears that you host WordPress on your own domain.

Unless you have installed one of the many stats plugins available for WordPress you won’t have any access to statistical information in your wp-admin dashboard. (Akismet is an anti spam plugin and nothing to do with visitor stats).

You can check your server stats from your hosting control panel assuming they provide them. If you have Cpanel hosting look for AWStats and other alternatives under “Logs”

I’d like to create a basic website using wordpress. Can you walk me through the basic setup and hosting?

Figure I can download wordpress and figure that out. It’s the hosting part that’s confusing! I have no tech ability btw, but am good with things like my blog on blogger
