How do you edit the “next page” and “previous page” links on a wordpress theme?

I’m designing my own WordPress theme from scratch and I can’t seem to figure out how to edit the next and previous page links to allow users to go to my older blog post. Anyone can provide a step-by-step tutorial for me? Thanks! :)

This is the basic syntax:

A marginally-more elegant solution, using two separate calls:

You may, of course, dress these up however your theme demands.

WordPress Questions And Answers

Some questions about PHP Nuke! Experienced answers please :) ?

Hello! ill try and keep it short

1. Does php nuke have the “modules/blocks” too create a flash portal (games/movies/ratings etc etc) ?

2. Does php nuke have easy to editable templates?

3. Is php nuke a complicated cms or somewhat easy to use like wordpress?

4. Overall is php nuke customizable? not talking about messing with core parts of it.. i mean template/module wise.. similar too wordpress’s plugin/template ease.

Much thanks for your time.

1. If you mean, can you use PHPNuke as a portal, and does it support Flash, yes to both. It comes with poll / download / discussion / polling support built-in, and there are piles of modules and hacks to be had in the downloads section.

2. I wouldn’t call PHP Nuke “easy to skin.” You need some practical PHP experience to skin it beyond changing a few colors and graphics; in other words, if you don’t like the base layout of PHP Nuke and you can’t find a skin for it that has a layout you do like, you’d best break out Notepad and get ready to get coding.

3. PHP Nuke’s back end is fairly straightforward, but it’s not as simple as working a copy of WordPress. PHP Nuke’s back end looks and feels like most Web site control panels, so it shouldn’t take too long to master.

4. PHP Nuke is very customizable. If you don’t want a feature, it is easily disabled. If you do want a feature, it’s as easy as downloading a hack or module and plugging it in. It’s very similar to the themes / plugins methodology used by WordPress.

Actually, would I were you, I would consider http://www.joomla.org or http://www.drupal.org if you’re looking for more of a community approach — like MySpace or Facebook — versus PHP Nuke, which is more geared at having lead contributors and leeches.
