Developing WordPress themes as per your requirements seems to be an easy job with so many tutorials available to help you. All you have to do is read a few guidelines and employ a set of techniques and there you are, with your very own creative and innovative customized theme design. Wake up! This is not the reality. Unfortunately, to have a competent themes that is capable of giving competition, you may have to know a little lot then just the guidelines. In addition to a set of intelligent techniques, it is also important for you to follow a set process so as to avoid chances of leaving loopholes.

Step 1: Explore the WordPress Development Site

No matter how efficiently you are meeting the core system requirements, it is best to begin with the WordPress development. Simply chose to create a sub-domain on one of your websites and install WordPress mu or WordPress 3.0. usability of multi-site features of WordPress will let you have a separate site for each theme. As per this rule, you would not have to set up a number of copies of WordPress.

Step 2: Start creating

Post meeting all the requirements, it is time to begin with the web development services. Ensure to perform all your coding with software on your local machine having Apache, Mysql, and php installed (XAMPP on Windows, MAMP on Mac), however, you may use different software as per the task and the operating system. For windows, the ideal combination of notepadd++ and WinSCP should be chosen. For Mac, two different set ups are recommended. First one is the they very functional Transmit 4 and Editra, whereas the second is the standalone program of Netbeans. You may choose any of these two options as per the requirement of your task. However as far as recommendations are concerned, Netbeans is ideal for projects and the combination of Editra and Transmit is good for individual files.

Step 3: Time to Test

This is a very important step which is often overlooked by most of the developers. The best way to test your themes is installing a few test WordPress content and a couple of plug-ins. The test content employed would ensure that the CSS along with functionality cover all possibilities. Also, you may install a database query plug-in to enable the checking of queries that are made on the site and then optimize your code to reduce/ remove queries or to consider the ones running slowly and demanding rethinking. This will work fine until you chose to wok on built in WordPress functions and are not writing your own queries. The moment you begin writing complex queries, problems may arise. and there may be problems. However, for this process, like an efficient web development company offering specialized WordPress development services, you may also employ a decent automated test suite for WordPress.

Step 4: The final stage of Deployment

If you have followed this till here and have developed your theme online, deployment is going to be a piece of cake for you. Strict adherence to efficient web development services often result in easy deployment procedure. Simply write a tiny bash script that copies the theme and files to your demo server. The bash script will not only erase all your cache file but also wraps up the theme zip files for easy and quick downloading of the themes and updating on getting published.
