what is the best and easiest way to create photo galleries in wordpress?

I have a wordpress blog and want to add pictures for each year of an event I run. What is the easiest wordpress plugin for doing this? Lightbox is too confusing and time consuming! I’m willing to pay for something if it allows long caption lengths.

There is a really easy to use and great looking WordPress Flash Gallery plugin called Flash Photo Gallery.

What’s really nice about this WordPress gallery plugin is it is totally point, click and create. When you install it the options page for this plugin is under your Media panel and the person who created this plugin made it very user friendly and a total no brainer. You basically just click add photos and then click create gallery. Doesn’t get much simpler than that. Good luck.

Looking for a good Flickr lightbox plugin for WordPress 2.8?

I recently created a WordPress blog that features a lot of photo galleries (photos located on Flickr.) Before upgrading to 2.8, I had a plugin called “Flickr Photo Album” (http://tantannoodles.com/toolkit/photo-album/) that worked well with 2.7. Basically it added a icon into the wordpress editor that allowed me to select which photo set I wanted and then placed it into the post. Clicking on each image thumb nail would make a flash based lightbox appear that you could then use to go through the photos. Unfortunately this plugin stopped working in 2.8, I can still place the thumbnails into my post but clicking them goes to the flickr page instead of loading the light box.
