WordPress Slideshow

WordPress problem…?

I am a novice at WordPress and am editing a site created by someone else. There is a slideshow on the home page. I have been asked to add a photo to it, but I can’t find the page. I can not find “home” or “index” or anything close. Can anyone tell me how to edit the home page?

The slideshow could have been added via numerous means; as a Plugin, integrated into the Theme itself or merely coded in to the Page itself. Unfortunately without access to the Site is is very difficult to advise where to look to change the Slideshow images and settings. I start with trying to find the slideshow options in ‘Settings’ or under ‘Appearance’.

WordPress How To Use Lightbox

On a website that uses wordpress, can you add an image to a category post?

Hi,

In need of advice here. I know you can add an image or a lightbox to a category post and a page on wordpress-thats very easy and straight forward. However I can seem to add an image to a category….is this possible and if so how?

Many thanks!

It would all depend upon the theme that you’re using. For instance, if the theme you use has a categories feature page such as can be found on the default homepage of the StudioPress Lifestyle theme then you can indeed add an image that is assigned to those feature categories.

For any other theme you’d need to have it coded so that a particular page or category page would have an image called via a php script that would be assigned to the page location via the style.css sheet.
